Ever since I discovered this website, Pinterest, I am obsessed with it. It's a very smart and well-organized website for searching topics, that you like. It's much better than typing keywords on the search engine, such as Yahoo, Google or Bing...
You could find every topic on Pinterest - from Fashion to Home to Health to FOOD...everything you would love to explore is on Pinterest. The awesomest part is you could pin whatever you like and organize them by categories, and you could always re-visit the one you pinned later. Most of the people pinned their items; they are nice enough to share instructions of how they made their items or where you could find the items. And you think that's awesome, wait...because you could immediately share with your family and friends on Facebook and Twitter.
Remember to follow us on Pinterest (click the logo above) and explore more...Happy Pinning and Happy Friday!
Do you remember those electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) thingy? E-cigarette, is an electrical device that simulates the act of tobacco smoking by producing an inhaledvapor bearing the physical sensation, appearance, and often the flavor and nicotine content of inhaled tobacco smoke, without its odor or, ostensibly, its health risks. It was the talk of the town few years ago.
My husband got an e-cigarette few years ago. He played with it for a week, and now it has been peacefully sitting alone somewhere at our house (they were very pricey [about $100.00] when they first came out; therefore, I did give my hubby a hard time when he stopped playing with it). I am not sure how useful it is to help those, who are trying to quit smoking. But it surely got a lot of attention when this new invention first came out in the public.
Diet company, Vaportrim took this new invention to the limit. Vaportrim now proudly presents a new diet product, inhalable desserts, including cupcake, strawberry shortcake, cinnamon bun, peach cobbler, milk chocolate, and even pina colada to assist people to lose weight! WHAT?! You hear me RIGHT! INHALABLE DESSERTS!
Here they explain how it works:
As you inhale flavor, you taste receptors send message to your brain. Hormones are releasing and telling your body it's full. Our sense of smell actually triggers feelings of fullness before our stomach does. By enhancing smell and taste, you feel full faster causing you to eat less to lose weight. (Note: Video below is not from their official website)
I have not tried this new product yet, so I can't tell you if it works or it's just a gimmick. If I come across one at a store (it seems that they only have it for sale on their official website now for about $10.00 each), I would definitely pick one up and tell you how it is. One thing I can tell you though; I don't think it could fulfill the same satisfaction we got from biting a freshly baked cupcake (in my opinion at least). So you want a "muffin top"or a inhalable muffin? Your choice.
Note: I guess, in future, they will probably come up with more crazy products, such as inhalable oven baked turkey, buttery mashed potato, Chinese orange chicken, etc...LOL!
I always admire entrepreneurs (just like myself); these people are fearless, innovative, passionate, driven, open mind and they always have that JUST DO IT positive attitude and a strong work ethic. The market has not been going to anywhere these few years, it's extremely challenging to become an entrepreneur. I hope all of us could just hang in there during this tough economy. Believing in yourself and your companies because your confidence will show to your customers, your employees, your stakeholders and your suppliers. Eventually, our passions and services will touch people's hearts.
A refreshing Kiwi yogurt Italian soda
I met this girl, Sundi from church when I was living in Pasadena back to year 2000. I heard so many good things about her cookings, her sweet personality and her food from others at the church we both went to. Few years ago, I found out that she finally opened her first cafe, Love to Go in City of San Gabriel, California. I am so excited and happy for her when I first discovered this news. Because turning your interests and hobbies into a career require a lot of efforts, time, money and a lot more...Her passion towards food have shown on her works. She created this sweet treat called waffza (think about a combination of waffle and pizza). This signature dessert is very popular at her cafe (so does their Italian soda). I am so honor to share her journey and passions with everyone on my blog.
Enjoy these interview Q&A, and I truly wish that after reading this post, you could sit back and take a moment to think about what you are passionate about and GO FOR IT because life is too short to wake up with regrets.
Mrs. G = G
Sundi = S
G: When did you open your own store, Love to Go? S: I opened my store on April 18, 2010 G: When did you discover you have passion toward food? S: When I was studying in college, I started cooking dinner for my friends, brothers and sisters from church all the time. One day, I saw a commercial on TV about Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena. I immediately made a phone call and scheduled a visit at their campus. After the visit, I finally made up my mind and decided to complete an associate degree in Culinary Arts.
Four different types of waffzas
Hong Kong style peanut butter waffle pocket
G: What inspired you to create waffza? S: I found out that many people in the States like to eat waffles. They also like pizzas. I think people like these two food because you could put a lot of different toppings on these two food items. I got inspired by pizzas and waffles and create waffza. At first, I made my waffza on a whole waffle and topped with ice-cream, whipped cream, strawberries and bananas, later I realized most of the people could not finish the whole waffza by themselves. It made me wonder how I could alternate my creation with more varieties. At last, I came up with the idea of separating the whole waffle into smaller size (their original quarter size) and decorate them slice by slice...Waffza was created ^.^
G: What is your favorite waffza? S: I like all of my waffza, but the most favorite waffza that I love is the banana & nut coated with dark chocolate.
Mr. G and I go to Las Vegas quite often in the past few years. Sadly, we have not yet got chance to visit Vegas together this year due to our busy work schedule, friends' weddings and other family events since our last visit in September 2010.
During our last visit, we stopped by Max Brenner Chocolate Restaurant (located at the Forum Shop at Caesar Palace in Las Vegas). The atmosphere of the restaurant is very casual - good for a quick bite, a coffee break, an after-dinner-hang out-place, a desert place for couples, a casual family dinner or a fast and decent brunch. However, the shop is relatively small compared to most of the restaurants in Vegas though, if you have a big group of people (more than 6), that would not be a good fun place to dine together.
Their famous hot wings
Mr's G hang over breakfast
My chicken panini sandwich
My pren-go friend told me chocolate and pinkle are a great combination! She didn't lie; they were pretty dang good.
My strawberry white chocolate milk shake
We went there on a Sunday morning for a brunch before leaving Vegas. We got there at the perfect time because they offer both breakfast and lunch menus; the menu is short but "sweet". They offer mostly American classic food (sandwiches, wings, burgers, and milk shakes). They provide good size food portion; the taste of the food is great and price is reasonable. We will definitely go back again to try more stuffs the next time.
Although their breakfast and lunch menu are small, but they do have an extensive dessert and drink menu. Since only two of us, and Mr. G was not ready for something too sweet in the morning, so we didn't get chance to try their dessert. We did order a strawberry white chocolate milkshake and a hot chocolate for our drinks though. Both of them are so tasty, and you could not miss them! Their signature chocolate pizza has been featured on the Food Network Show's The Best Thing I Ever Ate - Pizza. They have a little To-Go counter just right outside the restaurant, if you just want to grab a slice of the chocolate pizza of some cookies, you could just order it from the To-Go counter. They also have a little gift shop inside the restaurant. You could take home some cute gifts for your family and friends or just pick up something "sweet" to reward yourself!
You could order the chocolate pizza by slice.

Extraordinary Desserts, what a BIG name! Whoever titled their store with this "extraordinary" name; the store is better to be EXTRAORDINARY! O well, they are indeed...
Extraordinary Desserts in San Diego, California, offers big selections of gourmet desserts. Not only their desserts are extraordinary, their tea selection is amazing. They offer a huge options of loose tea leaves. Tea and desserts, what a great life! Ane a little background of their chef and founder from their website:
Karen Krasne , A San Diego native, Ms Krasne graduated from the
University of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Food and Human Nutrition, and has spent over 15 year training
in Paris' most distinguished school. Until now, Ms Krasne returns to France
regularly to train with the masters at Le Notre and Bellouet Conseil,
but her trips to exotic places are what truly inspire the creativity in her desserts.
They have two locations in San Diego, one in Little Italy and the original one in Balboa Park. We dropped by their store in Little Italy. Every pieces of their desserts are a wonderful piece of art in their very own dessert "museum". I appreciate that they use a lot of fresh flowers or edible gold flakes to decorate their desserts. Also, they fill the dessert plates with some yummy sweet kiwi sauce, chocolate sauce or passion fruit sauce...don't think that it's only for decoration, if you combine everything in one bite, you will know everything is comprising each other. I had their Napoleon, and Mr. G's cousin and his girlfriend ordered a coconut ice cream and a chocolate brownie. Their desserts are not cheap, but they are a good size to share.
Anyways, here are some pictures to share, bon appetit:
