Ice Cream Gallery
Summer has not officially arrived yet; however, the tempeature keeps going up each day. Ice cream is a great way to cure the hotness outside. If you are an aventurer, the ice creams I am going to introduce to you today will be your "cup of ice cream"=)
I went to Las Vegas during the Memorial Day weekend, and saw a big banner of Lobster Ice Cream at Lobster Me, located inside the Planet Hollywood hotel. It caught my eyes immediately; unfortunately, we were so stuffed from our very romantic anniversary dinner at Eiffel Tower restaurant at the Paris hotel, so we didn't get a chance to try it. That even better for adding me an extra reason to go back to Vegas this year=).
The same night, I read an article about an ice cream shop in Hong Kong. They even take your taste buds farther - Except for their signature French lobster ice cream, they also offer the following unique favors:
French bacon and egg, black/white truffle, foie gras, Japanese sake and black sesame...Check out what the locals said about this ice cream place here. Since we are going to Macau and Hong Kong this November, even though it might be a little too cold to have ice cream; I still want to put this place on my TO-DO LIST while I am in Hong Kong this winter.

A Sweet Treat - Parisian Macaron Purse
She is pretty, cheerful and sweet; she is the princess among all desserts. However, she is beyond challenge to master. Who this "she" I am talking about?! No others, but the prettiest dessert on earth - Parisian Macarons she is!
A macaron (French pronunciation: [makaˈʁɔ̃]) is a sweet meringue-based confectionery made with egg whites, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. The macaron is commonly filled with ganache, buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between two cookies. Its name is derived from the Italian word maccarone or maccherone. The confectionery is characterised by its smooth, domed top, ruffled circumference (referred to as the "foot"), and flat base. It is mildly moist and easily melts in the mouth.
Macarons can be found in a wide variety of flavors that range from the traditional (raspberry, chocolate) to the new (marmite, green matcha tea). The fillings can range from jams to ganache to butter. Since the English word macaroon can also refer to the coconut macaroon, many have adopted the French spelling of macaron to distinguish the two items in the English language. However, this has caused confusion over the correct spelling. Some recipes exclude the use of macaroon to refer to this French confection while others think that they are synonymous.

I tried to make this pretty lady couple times. First time, I got few good looking one out of two batches. Decided to try again after a few weeks and was wishing to get this time right. FAILED! Based on two failure attempts, I concluded measurements and reliable recipe are extremely important to make this pretty dessert. I am not ready to have my third attempt yet until I got fully recovered from my failtures (if you have a great recipe, please DO share with me=)).
If you want to try your crafty hands to make some macaron coin purse for yourself and someone you love, Joannie L from Craft Passion was nice enough to share a turtoraial post (with step by step pictures), click here to find out more.

Jello Art
When I was a little kid, I always thought jello was the most interesting dessert ever. Why? Because the jiggly textures makes jello so special and unordinary. And when I was kid, my mom used to make some colorful jello candies (covered with coconut shred), they were one of the most fun things to eat when you were a kid.
I would like to share some jello arts I found online with you today (photographs from websites: Eat Me Daily and South Jersey Real Estate; please visit these two websites for more information). These "jello artists" took jello to another level - they used jello to create jewelries, food, and EVEN architectures and cities...these artworks just blown my mind away!
If you like fashion and jewelries, how about some vintage style jewelries made from edible materials and jello:

My day time job is an Environmental Planner, and I have a thing toward architectures and urban planning/design. I just love to look at buildings (especially those historical ones=))

French + Chocolate + Fashion = Salon Du Chocolat 2011
French + Chocolate + Fashion = Salon Du Chocolat 2011 in Paris. You don't know how much chocolates could do until you see these amazing dresses. All the fashion pieces look amazing and yummy, check out these pictures. There is a little embrassing moment on the stage during the fashion show - French TV presenter, Karine Ferri presented her chocolat dress on stage, and all of a sudden, her dress was falling apart on the stage (probably due to the heat from the lights). Good that she remained clam, professional and belle.
