World's Largest Ice Cream Cone

Have you ever secretly to take home those GIANT ice cream cone decoration in front of some old fashion ice cream shops home?  (I did, just like the girl in the picture above).  But wait, they are just a big piece of plastic "pretended" as a big yummy ice cream cone.  I don't need more junks in my garage for no reason.

How about if the ice cream cone is a real one?  Will you take home with you in this hot summer?   British chef Heston Blumenthal made my fantasy come true. He and his team served up the world's largest ice cream cone last weekend as hungry throngs looked on. The giant vanilla scoop (weighed 2,204 pounds); and it took a month to freeze -- was placed on top of a massive cone via forklift. At 13 feet tall, the colossal creamy treat, created using donated ice cream and filmed for TV, set a new world record, besting a 9-foot cone that had set a record in Italy last year. The ice cream was distributed to the masses, but sadly they had to eat it plain because the sauces and sprinkles that had been catapulted onto it didn't stick. IMPRESSIVE!  However, some food lovers complained that wasting food and labors for promoting a TV show is such a stupid idea.

The Bigger The Better...Cupcake

When Nicole Richie and Kim Kardashian left Paris Hilton, she met this new giant cupcake, and she could become her new best friend because she is lower maintance than Nicole and Kim, and also they are less famous than them.  But for sure, she attracted as much attention as Nicole, Kim and Paris all three combined together.  LOL!  Just kiding.

We often hear American said "The Bigger The Better"...hey hey hey, I am talking about cupcake.  Found this GIANT CUPCAKE online and would love to share the picture with everyone.

Location: Detroit, Michigan

Date: August 15, 2009

Make way for the newly crowned "queen cupcake"! The cupcake, baked by the Merengue Bakery in California, has earned the title of World’s Largest Cupcake in the Guinness Book of World Records. With the help of GourmetGiftBaskets.com, the confection was able to earn the prestigious title of "queen" as it was decorated pink in support of the Susan G. Komen foundation, a leading organization in the fight against breast cancer.

But wait, the GIANT cupcake above is no longer the largest one anymore.  Because in October 2009, a new giant cupcake was created by Passion for Pastry in Boca Raton, Fla.

I can not count how many times I have mentioned on my blog about how much I love Cakespy.com and the artworks and recipes Jessie Oleson (the creator of Cakespy.com) created.  Everything on her website are totally AWESOME! MAGICAL! SWEET!

Her book, "Sweet Treats for a Sugar-filled Life" has just released (find out more details here).  Recently, Cake Central, the world's largest online cake decorating community has organized this super Awesome!  Magical!  Sweet! Cake Contest last month.  And the winner went to this super Awesome!  Magical!  Sweet! Cake.  The cake was inspired by the artworks crated by Jessie Oleson.  The winner took home a signed copy of the newly released  "Sweet Treats for a Sugar-filled Life" by Jessie Oleson.  How awesome and sweet it is!  Here is the despiration from the winner:

The cake is inspired by beautiful illustrations of Jessie Oleson. My daughter loved them so much that I had no choice but to make this cake. The first to be eaten was CCoggie (Cuppie Doggie), there are also Cuppie Boss, Cuppie Fairy, Player, Fitness Fanatic, Photographer, Pets and Sweets Lover, Decorator, Baseball Player and Awesome Cuppie Boss Worshhipper. The cake is vanilla, chocolate and strawberry cake, filling vanilla and cocconut IMBC, covered in fondant. Decorations fondant, gumpaste, marzipan, marshmallows and liquorice. Everything is edible (except wires and Rainbow Dust).

The cake is 99% edible (I don't think I want to eat this AWESOME creation though).  To check out the rest of the cakes, which entered to the contest, go to here.
