Little Bird Cupcakes

Couple months ago, I made these cute mini cupcakes for my customer.  I made some pink and purple birds and flowers to match the invitation of the baby shower.  They were the cuttest thing to eat, and everyone loved them (according to my customer).

Under the Sea Baby Shower's Cupcakes

First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.  Also praying for those who have been suffering from  Hurriance Sandy in the east coast.

It's been too long since I last updated my "creations".  I got couple orders for parties this weekend.  The themes for both parites are very cute and unique.  I will share pictures of the second party with everyone later this week.

Here are some mini cupcakes I made for the first party.  It's a baby shower for a baby girl, the theme is "Under the Sea".  Since the mini cupcakes are so tiny, I needed to keep all the decorations simple and catchy.   The flavors of the cupcakes are carrot cupcakes with cream  cheese frosting, red velvet cupcakes with white chocolate rose water frosting and the last but not the least is Japanese honey cupcakes with vanilla buttercream  frosting...

Precious First Birthday

Few weeks ago, I attended my friend's baby first birthday party at a park; it was a sunny, nice and warm day in April at the park.  First birthday is the most previous for the family and the baby.  I knew my friend and her sisters put a lot of efforts to make her baby's first birthday as perfect as possible=)  I could not believe baby Vai has turned one.  I still remember attending my friend's baby shower last year; it feels like just days ago.  It's so crazy that time has flied so fast that now the baby starts learning how to walk and words.

Made the paper cupcake toppers for baby Vai's cupcakes

My friend's favorite color, purple!  I put a little bow under the "1" cupcake picker
becauese Vai always has a little bow on her hairs.
I helped my friend of making some paper cupcake picks.  Due to their tight budget, they ordered the cupcakes from a local gocery store and my job was SIMPLE - just dress the store bought cupcakes up nicely.  I also made baby Vai a "I am 1!" sign for pictures (see picture below).  All the settings, decorations, food and cupcakes came out so cute together!  I truely had fun playing all the old school games and enjoyed all the food at the party.

Here is a little poem I found for my friend's baby Vai Vai:

Posing with the "I am 1!" sign I made her=)
I learned to laugh and squeal,
Then sit and stand,
And I can walk now if you hold my hand.
But the fun has only just begun,
Lookout world, I'm turning one!

My friend included pictures of her dad on the cake table
(her dad just passed away in March).  What a great way to celebrate
baby Vai's first birthday with her Kui (grandpa)
Vai vai likes her tranditional outfit.

The Billionaire Kitty

This is the world famous kitty and she is a billionaire ever since she was born in 1974.  Here is some information I found about this little kitty from Wikipedia -

Hello Kitty (ハローキティ Harō Kiti) (full name Kitty White) is a fictional character produced by the Japanese company Sanrio, first designed by Yuko Shimizu. The character's first appearance on an item, a vinyl coin purse, was introduced in Japan in 1974 and brought to the United States in 1976. The character is a staple of the kawaii segment of Japanese popular cultureThe Hello Kitty trademark has spread globally; Sanrio earned over $1 billion annually in sales outside of Japan, as of 2003.

Two weeks ago, I got an online order from my Etsy Shop.  A customer was planning a baby shower party for a friend (the friend is expecting a little baby girl), and she wanted to order some baby hello kitty with the pacifiers and baby bonnets on.  This was my second time of making this richest kitty in the world, but I still had fun of making them again (and the designs of these toppers are different than the last time too).

Here are some pictures of the Hello Kitty's cupcake toppers I made (they are 100% edible), enjoy (please contact me if you want any customized items, including party supplies, paper and fondant cupcake toppers):

Safari Theme Baby Shower Cupcakes

I got to admit that ever since the first day of 2012, I have not blogged as much as I wish.  There are few reasons, but the major reason is my full-time job has been keeping me extremely busy these days.  It seems that it is slowing down a little bits; I could have more spare time to blog and share sweet things I saw, I made, I tasted with all of you.

Last weekend, I made some very cute and tasty cupcakes for my customer.  Since the expected parents-to-be don't want to find out the gender of their future baby.  The mom of the mommy-to-be picked a very neutral theme for the baby shower, a Safari theme it is!  I think this is a beyond wonderful idea.  Since they have a strict budgets for the party, I suggested to make some matching paper animal cupcake picks to go with the theme.  That way it could lower the cost, but still make the cupcakes stand out.  The customer loved the idea.  She also like some tropical favors to go with the safari theme.  After our consultation, I suggested pina colada cupcake with fluffy coconut buttercream frosting, chocolate cupcakes with dark and milk chocolate frosting and the last but not the least was banana cupcakes with creamy honey frosting.

Everything turned out wonderful and I am so glad my customer, the future parents-to-be and their guests loved everything.  They told me they ever saved the cute animal cupcake picks to show their baby in future.

*PS:  If you are interested in these cute Safari theme cupcake picks, please go to my Etsy shop.  I have the same set of 12 cupcake toppers ($10.00usd not included delivery fee) for sale on my shop.

I got my idea from the invitation.

Realistic Baby Cake (Part I) - lovely or creepy!?

I have a lot of friends and family are expecting their new member,  and yes, a new baby these couple years.  I am so excitied for them and of course, I am so honored and happy to design some cupcakes for their baby shower party as well.  I came across this realistic baby cupcake on the internet.  Don't get me wrong; I do think the baker is very skillful to make the "baby" looks so real, but I personally found that it's so creepy to eat something so real.  What do you think?

I found a clip of a person cutting a realistic baby cake.  The "baby" is about a new born size, and he was cutting his "head" and "body" to share with everyone.  Sorry, that's just so wrong to me! =(  I LOVE baby, I LOVE cake, but I DON'T LOVE BABY CAKE!  Especially the one looks real!!!
