Cream puffs are one of the easiest desserts to make for new bakers. I am going to share my recipe with you and hope you enjoy these cute little treats at home too.
Prep: 25 mins Cool: 10 mins Bake: 30 mins
Oven: 400F Makes: 12 cream puffs or 24 mini cream puffs
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
3 cups whipped cream (either home made or from the store)
or pudding, fresh seasonal fruits (e.g.. strawberries, blue berries) ice cream or powder sugar (optional)
- Preheat over to 400F
- Grease a baking sheet
- In a medium saucepan combine water, butter and salt. Bring to boiling, then add flour ALL AT ONCE! Stirring vigorously.
- Cook and stir until mixture forms a ball
- Remove from heat
- Cool for 10 mins (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well with a wooden spoon after each addition
- Drop 12 heaping tablespoons of dough onto greased baking sheet. Bake about 30-35 mins (depends on your oven) or until golden brown and firm
- Cool
- Cut the puffs in half and insert whipped cream, or pudding, fresh fruits or ice cream inside
- DONE!
