Mr. G and I went to a tattoo, car and music event, Ink and Iron at the historical and beautiful Queen Mary in Long Beach during the weekend.  We go to this event every year and every year we had so much fun of checking out different tattoo booths, antique rides, beautiful pimp up girls, wonderful concerts and just enjoying our time on the historical Queen Mary and the ocean view.  I highly recommend this event to everyone if you have not been to one in the past.  It's good to check it out at least once in your life time=)

Beside all the fun stuffs I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of different booths selling vintage dresses, swimwears, hair accessories, shoes, and cute accessories.  I spotted a cupcake mini wallet at one of the booths, and of course wanted to take it home.  My husband spoiled me by paying it for me when he saw how much I love the wallet =)  The wallet is so cute and it's the perfect size to put in my mini purse.

The mini wallet is made by an American company, called Fluff.  If you are interested in buying one, you might be able to find it from Tilly's.  I just checked out their website, they also have another cupcake mini wallet (an old school tattoo style).  Besides these two styles, they also have one with a pimp up girl holding a cupcake compact makeup mirror and a coin purse.  Check out the pictures below.

PS.  Talking about the old school tattoo.  I would like to share my works I did last year for a tattoo artist in Orange, CA.  Click here to see more pictures.

LOVE is a Four Letter Word

I am so excited that we finally got our tickets to see Jason Mraz's concert at the Hollywood Bowl this October.  Jason Mraz is one of my favorite musicians and have been longing to see his live performance for ages.  I am now listening to his songs every morning when I drive to work and every night when I go to bed, just to get familiar with all his songs, so I could enjoy even more at his concert.
From boring...

...to what not to LOVE
Yesterday, in order to show my love and support to Jason and his music, I crafted 4 fondant toppers inspired by Jason's new album, "Love is a Four Letter Word" to decorate some dull looking Oreo cookies.  This is a wonderful (and easy) way to show your beloved one how much you love, care and appreciate them or it will even make a great surprise proposal idea.  If you want to turn your Oreo cookies to be a cookies with mission or a special cookie with messenge for the one you love, but you have no time or no idea how to make it.  Contact us or check our C for Cupcake Cupckaery Etsy shop, we could HELP!

They are not ordinary cookies.
They are cookies with mission to show people LOVE.
It's very hard to pick only 10 favorite songs from Jason Mraz because a lot of them are really welly made.  Here is my TOP 10 list:

1.  Butterfly (my all time favorite, so sexy and mystery)
2.  Man Gave Names to all the Animals (it's a cute revision from the Bob Dylan's version)
3.  I'm Yours (what not to love?!)
4.  Lucky (Mr. G and I sing this song at karaoke all the time)
5.  Remedy (First song I knew from Jason Mraz)
6.  Curbside Prophet (Very refreshing new music)
7.  You and I Both (Sad love song)
8.  Did You Get My Message (Love the melody and lyrcis)
9.  Make It Mine (Meaning song)
10.  Please Don't Tell Her (another sad song from him)

What are your favorite songs from Jason Mraz?  Share with us=)

Just because...

I made some cupcakes, which inspired by the Beatles' popular love songs "All You Need is Love" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand" for my customer.  Her husband loves the Beatles and she saw the Beatles cupcake toppers I made last year; she immediately fell in love with it.  She once told me she will for sure come to me and order some from me.  She came to me last week and ordered some Beatles to surprise her husband.  She wanted the 4 members of the Beatles and the remaining two cupcakes, she left room for me to put on my own designs.  I figured since she ordered the cupcakes for her love, I made the remaining two with a love message on it. Sometimes we don't need a reason to send something sweet to the one you love, some "just because..." cupcakes are the best!

Cupcake Ukulele

I love Etsy - is a high-class Craiglist for people, who enjoy making/selling and buying crafts or unique and original art works.  I bought couple things from the website; and I had great experience with the sellers.  The items listed on the website are not cheap, but surely you could take home a one of a kind item.

I came across this Celentano Woodworks shop on Etsy, and guess what I found?!  I found a very unique and cute cupcake ukulele ($450usd).  They have other very cute and special designs listed on the website, and according to their website, if you saw anything you like from the site, you could send them an email and ask for a quote.  All their designs can be made into a ukulele, guitar, bass, mandolin, and more.  How awesome it is!

Lady Gaga Inspired Cucpakes on "All Things Cupcake"

I am so glad to see my creation on "All Things Cupcake" website (this is another very popular cupcake site for the cupcake lovers).  Find out what they thought about my cupcakes and which one is their favorite by clicking here.

When I was sharing this great news with my mother-in-law by text msg.  She had a fabulous idea; she mentioned that I should send Lady Gaga a picture of the cupcakes.  And I did!  I sent her a picture of my Lady Gaga's cupcakes through Twitter last night.  I am not sure if she is going to respond, at least I tried (no regret).

Mr. G, I and my famous world travel cupcake are heading to the beautiful Washington State for my friend's wedding this evening.  I will see you guys next week, have a wonderful weekend!

The Beatles Cupcakes

I am a die hard the Beatles' fans ever since I was younger.  I started getting very into their music and their story when I was in high school.  I don't only like to listen their songs, I STUDY them too!  I want to know what the meaning behind the songs and the lyrics, and their personalities. Here is one of the examples what I am talking about:

A lot of people were saying that one of their songs "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was written when they were stoned.  John Lennon had declared it; he had explained to the media that the song was inspired by his son, Julian Lennon's (son with his first wife) drawing:

The "Lucy" who inspired this song was Lucy O'Donnell (later Lucy Vodden), who was a classmate
of John's son Julian Lennon when he was enrolled at the private Heath House School, in Weybridge, Surrey. It was in a 1975 interview that Lennon said "Julian came in one day with a picture about a school friend of his named Lucy. He had sketched in some stars in the sky and called it Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds."

I don't lie!  I told you I am VERY INTO THEM!  I like to know everything about the Beatles.

Last night, I decided to make some cupcakes for them as a tribute of my love for the Beatles.  I got the idea from their "A Hard Day's Night" cartoon.  If you have never got a chance to watch this cartoon, you need to you tube it (see my you tube clip below).  I found them pretty funny!

The Beatles Cupcakes, la la lalalalalala...with love from me to you...
(I was humming their songs the whole time when I was making the toppers)

Ringo Starr - we all live in a yellow submarine...yellow submarine...yellow submarine...

George Harrison - To be honest with you, George has become my #1 Beatle among 4 of them (I used to love Sir Paul McCartney a lot) until I heard of  the later songs George wrote for the group.
The songs he wrote are darker, but richer; and they are definitely different from the songs John and Paul wrote.
He also bought in a lot of different elements and music instruments to the Beatles.

Sir Paul McCartney - she loves you, yeah yeah yeah, she loves you., yeah yeah yeah...
No doubt that Paul is the "love" Beatle!

John Lennon -
I once had a girl
Or should I say she once had me
She showed me her room
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?
Fun fact:  The Beatles are the best-selling band in the history of popular music, and over four decades after their break-up, their recordings are still in demand. They have had more number one albums on the UK charts and have held the top spot longer than any other musical act.  According to the RIAA, they have sold more albums in the United States than any other artist, and they headed Billboard magazine's list of all-time top Hot 100 artists in 2008.
