DON'T NUT, DONUTS!

My friend made some donuts and cinnamon rolls for her little nieces' birthday couple months ago.  When she told me she is going to make cinnamon rolls, I told her to add bacon in your cinnamon rolls.  She and everyone else thought I was nut at first, but she still "bought" my idea.  And suprisingly, they turned out great and unique and everyone loved them.  Her recipes of making the cinnamon-bacon rolls and donuts are super easy -

Cinnamon-Bacon Rolls -

1 roll of ready to bake cinnamon rolls
1 round cake pan
1 pack of bacons

  1. Open the ready to bake cinnamon rolls and put one slice of bacon and roll the rolls.
  2. Place the rolls in a round cake pan (I suggest using round cake pan because it is the perfect way to keep the round shape of the cinnamon rolls).
  3. Bake as directed and then done!
Donuts -

1 pack of store bought biscuits
Vegetable oil for frying
A big and a small round cookie cutters
  1. Open the store bought biscuits and use your round cookies cutters to cut them in a donut shape.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil, once it's heated.  Put your donut dought in the oil until golden brown on both sides.
  3. Decorate your donut with powder sugar or with an easy donut glaze (click here).

And find these cuper cute donuts on the website.  They are from a bakery in Japan.  How cute!

I Love Sewing Cupcake Toppers

Hi, how's your weekend?  I had a great but busy weekend this week.  Went to visit my family and my new nephew, attended my good friend's wedding and went to Mr. G's grandpa's birthday party.  But don't worry, no matter how busy I am, I have never forgot about my C for Cupcake Cupcakery's blog to remain connected with everyone.

I made these cute sewing cupcake toppers couple weeks ago.  They are a great way to dress up your cupcakes, cookies or other baked goodies.  Just want to remind everyone that I just opened our C for Cupcake Cupcakery Etsy shop online (click here to check out our online store) to sell cupcake toppers, cupcake wrappers, gift tags and much more...I know I know, now my online store is still pretty empty.  But I promise more items will be posted soon.

The idea and concept about my Etsy shop is serving more people! My online cupcake business is limited to serve those who live in Orange County, Los Angeles County and part of Inland Empires.  I also know that a lot of people like to bake by using their own recipes, but they may not have time to make the "accessories" to dress up their baked goodies; therefore, our C for Cupcake Cupcakery Etsy Shop could serve those customers, who live outside of the LA and OC area, and also serve those who love to bake, but do not have time to make the "accessories" to dress up their baked goodies.  Hopefully, I could share more sweetness through my Etsy shop with everyone.

I will post more projects on my Etsy shop soon, stay tuned!

We are on "Cupcakes Take the Cake"

I have been following this #1 cupcake website called "Cupcakes take the Cake" for a while.  If you are a cupcake lover, I am sure you heard of them (and love them) before.  If you are new, this site won't disappont you.  They always share pictures of a lot of fun and cute looking cupcakes to please your eyes, provide information, location and review of different cupcakes shops (within the states and outside the states) and share countless "sweet" recipes on their website.  If you are planning a trip and would like to stop by some cupcake shops, this site is right for you.

I am so happy to share this great news with everyone that, our Lady Gaga inspired cupcakes were selected to be on their website.  Check out here

Happy Friday and Long Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone!  I am so excited and happy to announce to everyone that our South Park themed cupcakes has been featured on Cakespy website today!  I have already expressed my love towards Cake Spy on my previous post - I enjoy their everyday post, their cute illustrations, their adventurous recipes, their recommendation of different dessert places throughout the States, their products (their store in Seattle is the cutest place on earth!  They also have their online store too.)

This is an exciting news to start off my long weekend!

*PS:  Don't forget to support Jessie's and her new book!

Sharing is Caring

I received a bag of starter of the Amish Friendship Bread and the recipe of how to make the bread last October.  That was my first time of making Amish Friendship Bread and that's the first time I share the starters with others.  This is a very clever idea to encourage your family and friends to bake.  The bread is easy to make, and the ingredients they ask for could also be found easily from your local stores or even your very own kitchen.  In addition, you could put anything inside the batter (nuts, walnuts, cranberries, raisins, etc) to customize your own flavor.

If you want to be the first one to start passing out the bread and recipe, you need to start the starter first.  Click here---> starters and see how you could make the starters to pass them out to your family and friends.

  • Important Note: Don't use metal spoons or equipment.
  • Do not refrigerate.
  • Use only glazed ceramic or plastic bowls or containers.

Required Main Ingredient

1 cup live yeast starter (see starters)

day 1:
Do nothing with the starter.
days 2-5:
Stir with a wooden spoon.
day 6:
Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk. Stir with a wooden spoon.
days 7-9:
Stir with a wooden spoon.
Day 10 BAKING DAY:
Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Stir. Take out 3 cups and place 1 cup each into three separate plastic containers.

1 cup oil
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

In a separate bowl combine the following dry ingredients and mix well:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 - (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup nuts

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Mix and pour into two well greased and sugared bread pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.

After you are done with your bread, you should have 3 starters left.
You could pass the one bag of starter and a copy of the recipe to your family and friends
after finished baking.

Mr. G's Favorite Dessert

Mr. G LOVES LOVES LOVES cream puffs!  Did I say that he loves cream puffs?!  He even requested to have cream puffs as his birthday "cake"!  Once in a while, I make cream puffs at home just to satisfy his sweet tooth.

Cream puffs are one of the easiest desserts to make for new bakers.  I am going to share my recipe with you and hope you enjoy these cute little treats at home too.

Prep:  25 mins  Cool:  10 mins  Bake:  30 mins
Oven:  400F  Makes:  12 cream puffs or 24 mini cream puffs

Ingredients:

1 cup water
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
3 cups whipped cream (either home made or from the store)
or pudding, fresh seasonal fruits (e.g.. strawberries, blue berries) ice cream or powder sugar (optional)

  1. Preheat over to 400F
  2. Grease a baking sheet
  3. In a medium saucepan combine water, butter and salt.  Bring to boiling, then add flour ALL AT ONCE!  Stirring vigorously.
  4. Cook and stir until mixture forms a ball
  5. Remove from heat
  6. Cool for 10 mins (VERY IMPORTANT)
  7. Add eggs one at a time, beating well with a wooden spoon after each addition
  8. Drop 12 heaping tablespoons of dough onto greased baking sheet.  Bake about 30-35 mins (depends on your oven) or until golden brown and firm
  9. Cool
  10. Cut the puffs in half and insert whipped cream, or pudding, fresh fruits or ice cream inside
  11. DONE!
